Sri Adwayananda Public School welcomed new leadership this year with the
appointment of Mr. K.B. Kumar as Director, Planning and Administration, and Ms.
Meeja Kumari as Principal.
Mr. K.B. Kumar is a distinguished developmental educationist bringing decades of
experience in value-based, transformative school systems. His career includes
leadership roles as Director & Senior Vice President of the Shri Ram Group, National
Director of FIITJEE Ltd., and a senior official with the Ministry of Education in the
Maldives. He began his journey as a teacher at IGNOU and Rishi Valley School and
went on to mentor schools and institutions across India, including the Andamans and
Northeast. He also worked with Harvard University’s WIDE Project, tailoring
teaching–learning strategies for Indian schools and engineering colleges, and
completed a PPE at Harvard in “Leading Educational Systems at the National Level.”
Hailing from Elanthoor, Kerala, and the son of Gandhian advisor Kumarji, Kumar brings
a unique blend of philosophical depth, strategic acumen, and grassroots wisdom to
his educational mission.
Mrs. Meeja Kumari, newly appointed as Principal, has dedicated more than 27 years
to Sri Adwayananda Public School. With a B.A. and M.A. in English Language and
Literature from University College, Trivandrum, and a B.Ed. from Mar Theophilus
Training College, Nalanchira, she began her career in Trivandrum before joining the
school, where she has taught from lower primary to Class XII. Specializing in English
Language and Literature for ISC Classes XI and XII, as well as AS Level English
General Paper (Cambridge), she has also guided students through NIOS
examinations. Passionate about holistic learning, she believes every child learns
differently and that classrooms must nurture curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and
compassion. As Principal, her vision is to ensure that the school remains a place
where students feel safe, inspired, and excited to learn, growing into confident, kind,
and capable individuals prepared not only for careers, but for life.
