Sri Adwayananda Public School Senior Students Visit IIT Palakkad

Senior students of Sri Adwayananda Public School recently had the exceptional opportunity to visit IIT Palakkad, one of India’s premier technology institutes, established in 2015. The educational trip included 18 students and 4 teachers, along with a member of Alliance Educational Foundation, offering them a firsthand experience of cutting-edge research and technological advancements.

Exploring the Labs at IIT Palakkad

The students were warmly welcomed and spent a full day exploring various departments, gaining valuable insights into multiple fields of science and engineering.

1. Electrical Lab:

Students were introduced to fundamental concepts in electricity, including AC-DC motors, current frequency, voltage, and the practical applications of electrical energy. The session provided them with a strong foundation in electrical engineering and its real-world significance.

2. Physics Lab:

The visit to the physics lab was particularly exciting, as students got hands-on experience with advanced scientific instruments such as the spectrometer and oscilloscope. They also witnessed experiments using liquid nitrogen, showcasing the fascinating applications of physics in modern technology.

3. Chemistry Lab:

In the chemistry lab, students learned about a wide range of laboratory equipment, including the spectrophotometer, optical microscope, micro syringe, GPC equipment, liquid chromatograph, and fluorescence spectrophotometer. They gained an understanding of how these sophisticated instruments are used in scientific research and chemical analysis.

4. Mechanical Lab:

The mechanical lab provided a deep dive into engineering applications, where students observed universal testing machines, the buckling machine, and an airfoil visualization system. The session introduced them to aerodynamics and mechanical strength testing, giving them a glimpse into advanced mechanical engineering principles.
