We are fortunate to have had the support of UNESCO for the International Colloquium series since its inception in 2013, and recognition of the importance of the teacher-student relationship in education which serves as the inspiration for the educational approach at Sri Adwayananda Public School.
In a congratulatory message sent by Mr. Shigeru Aoyagi, Director of UNESCO and Representative of India, Bhutan, Maldives and Sri Lanka on the occasion of the Fourth International Colloquium held from August 4-6, 2016, he stated:
“….The relationship amongst teachers and students has always been diverse and there is increasing recognition that teachers play the most important role in a student’s learning – and thus, in improving educational attainments, increasing the ability of young people to participate in society and today’s knowledge economies, boosting productivity and prosperity. We at UNESCO believe that teachers enhance and shape student learning and are active promoters of the values of citizenship, peace and intercultural dialogue…”
The First Annual International Colloquium was attended by UNESCO Programme Officer Ms. Huma Masood, New Delhi, India.
