About Us

Alliance Educational Foundation was founded in 1985 as a charitable society with the aim of supporting education that fosters a positive learning environment with freedom for discovery and active learning.

The Foundation opened Sri Adwayananda Public School (English-medium), in 1987 in Kerala, India. Named in honour of the great Sage Sri Adwayananda, it is committed to offering a quality education that fosters an enthusiasm for learning and academic excellence. Classes are intentionally kept small to allow individual attention for the students.

In a rich learning environment, the school’s curriculum is introduced through learning activities and smaller classes, allowing the students the freedom to explore and experiment. Along the way, they are introduced to the concept of examinations in an enjoyable way through an “Exam Fest” the Upper Primary standards in which children help prepare the question papers and solve them in a collaborative way with teachers and fellow students each term.

The school also organises an annual Expo for the Upper Primary and High School section where children present original projects of their own choice to parents and the school community. This allows students to develop research and presentation skills as well as offers the opportunity to learn from their peers.

The school today serves children from the Pathanamthitta district and surrounding areas and is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE, ISC) as well as the Clonlara School (Michigan, USA). We are also affiliated with the IGCSE/AS/A (Cambridge International) syllabus as well.

Over thirty-five years, the school has become known for its innovative educational approach, being named in the past by The Week Magazine as “one of the top ten innovative schools in India.”

Mr. Pig’s First Day of School

This book was spontaneously created as a project on Day 2 of our International Colloquium. An alumna and her teacher came up with the idea of creating a children’s short story which reflects her experience of exploration and discovery in the school.
